Bourbon County

Bourbon County, Kentucky

Bourbon County, with a population just shy of 20,000, was established originally as a part of Virginia and was much larger at that time. Parts of that larger county now comprise 34 Kentucky counties! In 1792, it was transferred the new Commonwealth of Kentucky!

The county seat is Paris. Bourbon County — the larger version — was originally part of the French province of Louisiana and later a part of Virginia.  It was named after the French House of Bourbon and is known for its association with famous Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey. The naming of the county was in honor of the assistance given from France during the American Revolution.

Bourbon County is included in the Lexington-Fayette Combined Statistical Area. The homes and farms for sale, along with other Bourbon County properties, are listed below.
