Mercer County, Kentucky
Mercer County, Kentucky with a population of just over 21,000, was organized in 1785 and was formed from Lincoln County. The county seat, Harrodsburg, was the first City in Kentucky County, Virginia. Harrodsburg was originally the county seat of Lincoln County, before Mercer was created. Mercer County was named for Hugh Mercer, a general in the Revolutionary War.
